About Antonella Sanderson

When Antonella Sanderson was seven years old, her parents went through a separation. It was a confusing time for her, and she couldn’t help but feel responsible for their distress during the court proceedings. These emotions sparked a determination within her to become a family lawyer in order to prevent other children from going through what she experienced. From that young age, she set a goal for herself to pursue a career in family law.

Fast forward to 3 September 2002, when her child was just nine months old. She made a brave decision to embark on the journey of starting her own business. At the time, she was 26 years old and full of fearlessness, although looking back, she may have been somewhat unaware of the immense amount of hard work that running a business would entail.

During that time, she held three strong convictions, which she stills uphold to this day:

  • Couples who have experienced relationship breakdowns should be able to find closure in a restorative manner, regardless of their circumstances. Above all, it is essential for their children to find healing throughout the process.
  • Our workplaces should foster our passion for Family Law and equip us to make a profound impact on the community. We are not merely providing a legal service – we are agents of conflict resolution.
  • We must restore our faith in the Family Law System. The System should constantly strive for improved outcomes for all parties involved and ensure a positive journey for families, lawyers, and decision-makers who play a role in the legal aspects of separation.

Stating the obvious that no one wants to use Family Law, however sometimes it is necessary and if you do then it is wise to research and find a specialised law firm. Veronica at FLM was amazing to work with, highly organised, meticulous in her detail. The entire journey I felt that I was in good hands, the trust I had with Veronica to use her guidance and expertise was warranted. Although I was one of the unfortunate ones that does end up in a Family Law Court room, all of that preparation over the preceding two years I could see play out in that room. I could see all of the judgment calls that Veronica had guided me towards work effectively. I would recommend FLM and Veronica to anyone in need of a specialised Family Law Firm/Lawyer.

Could not recommend Cortnie and the team from FLM highly enough.For someone who had no idea on how the family law system worked, and after hearing horror stories about solicitors only being there for your money, it was a very anxious time attempting to select a solicitor to help me with my situation.From the moment of making initial contact, I felt at ease and comfortable making the decision to work with the company, and in particular Cortnie.It was a long and lengthy process getting to settlement date, but I was informed and things were clearly explained every step of the way. Although it was a costly exercise overall, there was not once I felt like I was being taken for a ride, or taken advantage of. I felt so supported, and ended up learning so much about the overall process. No question was ever a dumb one, and Cortnie was so approachable and always kept me informed.I can’t recommend her highly enough, and although I hope I never have to, I wouldn’t hesitate to use her and the team again!

I do not want to deal with legal issues but I have to in order to solve my property settlement issues after divorce. Although there are many family lawyers advertised on the website, it is actually hard for me to find one. Sometimes it became suffer for me to repeat things again and again, but things have been changed since I met with Brendan and Steve in Family Law Matters, from the first talk with Steve over the phone, I felt I am in a helping hand and he understood my situation, until later I met with Brendan in their office, he instantly understood me and advise me the way to achieve, I became much confident and relaxed in working with him to solve my problems. Especially later when we work together, for every issue either via email or via phone, his suggestions or answers are always to the point, he really thinks from customers’ point of view, that is why he can understand me. Their business is excellent , it is just like their business name ‘Family Law Matters”. I highly recommended.
