About Stephen Mullette

He has a wide range of experience in corporate and personal insolvency, including bankruptcy, liquidations, voluntary administrations, receiverships, and financial restructuring. He provides advice and representation to insolvency practitioners, as well as creditors and debtors in insolvency and restructuring matters.

Stephen frequently represents insolvency practitioners in Federal, Family, and State Supreme Courts, dealing with legal matters related to insolvency administrations. This includes resolving trust and property disputes and recovering voidable transactions under the Bankruptcy and Corporations Acts.

He provides advice on asset protection and represents individuals and corporations in their interactions with insolvency practitioners. This includes negotiating deeds of company arrangement, personal insolvency agreements, and compositions, as well as handling claims for the recovery and sale of real property. He also handles disputes related to voidable transactions, insolvent trading, director’s duties, and the intersection of Family Law with insolvency.

Stephen has published several articles and is a contributing author to the CCH Australian Master Family Guide on “Bankruptcy and Third Parties” and the CCH Family Law and Practice Looseleaf service on “Debt and Bankruptcy”. He is also a member of the Editorial Board for the LexisNexis Insolvency Law Bulletin.

This is my first time in transacting with Matthewsfolbigg which I did while purchasing a property. My dealings were mainly with Jeannette Limbo who went above and beyond any other solicitor that I have used when transacting for a property. At every stage I was contacted by Jeanette to update me personally and follow up with an email. She is unbeleivably pleasant, easy to work with, meticulous and takes her work to heart. As an example, our settlement was to take place at 2:30 on the Friday. It was imperative that we settle on Friday but we hit a technical snag at our bank. Jeanette spent the whole day on the phone with the banks and the other solicitor to try to get things done and stayed after work on a Friday until we finally settled. It was really nice to see how happy Jeannette was when it was done, we were definately not a number. We were a person who needed the job done.
